Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.18%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of HDFC Bank(up 2.51 per cent) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.33 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Bandhan Bank(down 11.71 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 5.69 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 4.1 per cent), Federal Bank(down 2.86 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(down 2.83 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Bank index closed 0.18 per cent down at 32684.8.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 56.65 points at 15350.15, while the BSE Sensex stood up 237.42 points at 51597.84.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 ended in the green, while 24 closed in the red.

Shares of , YES Bank, , Vedanta and were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , Globesecure Technologies Ltd., , and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while , , FACT, and Mahamaya Steel hit their fresh 52-week lows.
