Save Soil movement touched 3.2 billion people: Sadhguru

MYSURU: Sadhguru’s Save Soil movement reached his hometown Mysuru, with him covering a whopping 27,854 km, to create awareness on the cause. On Sunday evening, he spoke at the 670th event of the movement, at the jam-packed amphitheatre of the University of Mysore (UoM). “Before the start of this movement, people were saying that soil is an unromantic thing, but four days ago, we were informed that we touched 3.2 billon people worldwide. Today we are able to make the world become conscious about soil and it’s conservation,” he said.
Sadhguru stated that 74 countries across the world signed the declaration on soil conservation. He said that today soil has become an important part of conversation efforts. “It is the common factor between all of us,” he said. “All governments responded to us. They gave a declaration on a soil policy document. We are giving them a policy handbook. We will handhold smaller countries in their efforts on soil conservation,” he said. Sadghuru requested everyone to spare 10 minutes every day, on creating awareness on conserving soil. We are ready to provide training for enthusiasts to reach out to farmers and stakeholders,” he said. When he concluded his speech those gathered at the venue, burst into the slogan, “Let us make it happen.”
Shri Shivaratri Deshikendra seer of Suttur Mutt recalled the Indian values, which considers land and soil to be like one’s mother. He stated that Sadguru's concern for ecology, rivers, and soil, has created awareness in society on these issues. Mysuru MP Pratap Simha requested Sadhguru to create awareness against landfills, where garbage is dumped in our cities and villages. He stated that Sadhguru is the true Indian cultural ambassador after Swami Vivekananda, as he is spreading Indian values in the global arena.
