BHUBANESWAR: Health authorities have cautioned against dumping Covid safety measures (masks and social distancing) in view of the state witnessing a rise in daily infections, with 51 new cases reported on Suday, the highest since May 9.
Health administrators said many patients are still coming to Covid hospitals and there is no scope for complacency. “In case of large congregation, everybody should wear a mask so that no one gets infected. Those getting infected are complaining of mild symptoms, but in some cases, it is manifesting in severity. We have not had genome sequencing for long, but from the symptomatology, it seems it is Omicron variant of Covid,” said Bijay Mohapatra, director, health services.
