486 Covid cases in Haryana, 102 in Punjab & 8 in Himachal Pradesh

CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: Haryana on Sunday reported 486 new cases and 446 recoveries, while 5,077 persons were given the vaccine doses. No fatality was reported during the day, while the positivity rate of the day dropped to 3.78%. Meanwhile, Punjab recorded 102 new cases, taking the total number of positive cases to 7,61,303.
There was also one death from Covid in Ludhiana. The total number of Covid deaths in Punjab has now reached 17,759. Himachal Pradesh reported eight positive cases of Covid-19 on Sunday while eight positive patients have also recovered.
The cumulative Covid count of Haryana has gone to 10,09,599 cases, 9,95,993 recoveries, 10,621 deaths and 2,962 active cases. Of the total active cases only 50 are hospitalised, while they rest in home isolation. Gurgaon reported the highest 319 cases, followed by 84 cases from Faridabad, 24 from Panchkula, 12 from Hisar, nine from Karnal, eight from Ambala, six each from Kaithal and Rohtak, five from Jind, four from Kurukshetra and Jhajjar, three from Sonipat, and one each from Yamunanagar and Sirsa.
Himachal has 2,85,416 confirmed positive cases of which 163 cases are active, 2,81,115 patients have recovered while 4,118 patients have died. Positive cases reported include one from Bilaspur district, one from Hamirpur, two from Kangra, one each from Kinnaur, Mandi Solan and Una. Those recovered include five from Kangra, one from Shimla, one each from Sirmaur and Solan. On the vaccination front, first dose was given to 304 persons in Haryana, second dose to 1,425 and booster dose to 3,348. In Punjab, 3,720 persons were vaccinated on Sunday out of which 154 got the first dose and 3,566 got the second vaccine shot. Total 426 persons were given precautionary doses on the day.
