1,500 bottles of intoxicating syrup seized in Junagadh

Rajkot: The Junagadh special operations group (SOG) raided several places in the district and Maliya-Hatina and seized 1,501 bottles containing an intoxicating concoction.
The bottles were being sold under the garb of ayurvedic cough syrup, said AM Gohil, inspector, SOG.
Police raided four paan shops in Chorwad and as many highway dhabas in Vanthali and seized a total of 878 bottles.
SOG also raided the house of Kano Ashok Dave who allegedly supplied the concoction and seized 459 bottles.
“We have detained 10 people and an offence will be registered once we receive the forensic report,” said Gohil.
