Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.3% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 10:55AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Eicher Motors(up 1.58 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.8 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 0.6 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 0.53 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki(up 0.34 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bharat Forge(down 2.09 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 2.06 per cent), Tata Motors(down 1.92 per cent), MRF(down 1.65 per cent) and Escorts(down 0.7 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.3 per cent at 10798.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 20.6 points at 15272.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 27.17 points at 51333.25.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of , YES Bank, MRPL, and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of , , , Globesecure Technologies Ltd. and hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while FACT, Vedanta, JTL Infra, and hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
