Due date for filing returns extended

Coimbatore: The last date for submitting annual returns by food business operators (FBO) for the financial year 2021-22 has been extended till June 30 from May 31, an official with the food safety department said.
It is mandatory for all FBOs, including re-packers and re-labelers, to file annual returns on www.foscos.fssai.gov.in. “Returns should not be submitted in person or through email, and strictly through the portal,” the official said.
Those who fail to submit it will attract a 100 fine everyday post June 30. FBOs who missed the last date can pay the fine through the penalty option on the website and submit their returns. Failing to submit the details will attract notice from the food safety department. They will not be able to renew their license also.
