Covid-19: 123 new infections in Rajasthan, 1 dies in Sikar

Active cases in Jaipur have now increased from 299 to 317.
JAIPUR: One person died of Covid-19 in Sikar and 123 others tested positive in various parts of the state on Saturday. The latest death was the fourth Covid casualty in the state this month and the second in Sikar in four days. With this, the state’s Covid toll rose to 9,561.
Two people had died of Covid in Alwar and Bikaner on June 9, and one person had succumbed to the virus in Sikar on June 14. In the past 24 hours, the number of active cases in the state jumped from 639 to 669.
As per data available with the state health department, Jaipur witnessed a spike in new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours with 64 new cases, which was more than double the cases (29) reported on Friday. Other districts where new cases were reported in the 24 hours were Alwar (12), Bikaner (12), Jodhpur (9), Ajmer (7), Udaipur (6), Nagaur (4), two cases each in Sikar, Sirohi, Jhalawar, and one case each in Baran, Chittorgarh and Dungarpur.
Active cases in Jaipur have now increased from 299 to 317. In the last 24 hours, 92 people suffering from Covid-19 recovered in the state.
Most of the cases being reported in the state these days show mild symptoms, said a health department official. The patients are recovering under home isolation and few are requiring hospitalization, he added.
As many as 94,904 persons have undergone tests for Covid-19 this month. Of them, 1,290 tested positive with a positivity rate of 1.36%, said the official.
