COIMBATORE: The government-operated 24-hour helplines 104 and 14417 have been buzzing ahead of declaration of Class X and XII exam results on Monday.
School education department’s helpline 14417 has been receiving as many as 700 calls per day compared to 400 last week, an official said. “We have five counsellors to attend the calls. The number of calls has started increasing as the results day approaches,” said operations head of GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute Paul Robinson F.
“Many calls are on exam result data and the process to check results online. The counsellors would explain the step-by-step process to check the result if students face server issues on Monday. They will also divert calls from parents complaining about schools demanding donation to the respective official,” Paul said. “The counsellors would also provide psychological support to students who fail, and encourage them to take supplementary exams.”
Twenty counsellors are deputed to handle calls to the health department’s 104 helpline, which is getting 100 calls a day. “We are prepared to attend the calls on the D-Day. Counsellors would offer ways to manage stress and overcome negative thoughts,” Paul added.
While Class XII results will be announced at 9.30am on Monday, Class X results will be declared at noon.
