Tirupati, June 17: The first international research awareness workshop was held at the Madanapalle institute of technology and science (MITS) at Madanapalle in Annamayya district on Friday.

MITS principal Dr C Yuvaraj welcomed the scientists from the National aeronautics and space administration (NASA), USA, and from the Massachusetts institute of technology associated with the university of Colorado, USA and representatives from the Indian space agencies, to the first of its kind workshop held at the MITS college premises at Madanapalle.

"This workshop is being jointly organized by the Indian institute of space science and technology, Trivandrum and the ministry of earth sciences, New Delhi, at MITS", added Dr Yuvaraj.

Dr M Venkat Rathnam from NARL- ISRO, said that everyone should contribute to interdisciplinary research and innovate. The source of the research is multidisciplinary collaboration of physics, chemistry, mathematics and various engineering disciplines, which could pave the way for new studies that could benefit the country and also provide financial support for new research through the national atmospheric research laboratory.



Meanwhile, the MITS management felicitated all the participating scientists and guests at a special programme held later in the evening.
