Now, day’s recoveries also nearing a century

Nagpur: The 11 districts of Vidarbha region together reported 102 cases, 100 plus for the second consecutive day on Saturday. But the recovery count of the day also neared 100 with 95 Covid patients recovering in a day. This means, patients who are under-treatment are recovering faster in this new surge of cases.
The daily test count also saw a significant increase on Saturday. More than 6,000 tests were conducted across the region. With 102 of them testing positive, the test positivity rate is still around 2% which is well under control as per the global standards.
Nagpur once again reported the highest 56 out of 102 cases of the day. They include 33 from Nagpur city, 21 from Nagpur rural and 2 from other states. With rising recoveries, the number of under-treatment patients also reduced to 503. Interestingly, all the districts in Vidarbha reported new cases on Saturday, and all but Amravati reported recoveries. This indicates that the Covid surge is now being reported from all the parts of the region and the nature of the disease is almost same everywhere.
Early recovery, less hospitalization and no need of oxygen support are some of the factors common in patients being reported from across the region.
On Saturday, Nagpur had 294 patients under treatment, the highest in Vidarbha. Only three of them were admitted in GMCH and others are recovering in home isolation. About 9 patients are admitted in Gadchiroli’s district hospital as part of a precautionary measure while some 7 patients are under observation in Yavatmal’s GMCH. Other than these, no hospitalization has been reported in any part of the region so far.
