Mysuru: The All-India Democratic Students Organization (AIDSO) state unit secretary, Ajay Kamath, has said that the Agnipath defence recruitment scheme of the Union government will deprive the youth of permanent jobs.
He criticised the Centre for bringing a scheme that would restrict the youth to serving in the armed forces for only four years, instead of holding permanent positions.
He also opposed the government’s policy of recruiting youths on a contractual, outsourcing basis in both private and public sector organisations. “The Indian government cannot betray the youths by its move like privatizing the armed forces,” the press release said. Kamath appealed to all youths to protest against Agnipath-like schemes in a loud voice. TNN
