Central Railways general manager Anil Kumar Lahoti was addressing the senior divisional commercial managers’ conference at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai
Nagpur: Central Railways general manager Anil Kumar Lahoti has appealed to senior divisional commercial managers (SrDCMs) to better their performance by meeting the targets set.
Lahoti was addressing the SrDCMs conference at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai. Mani Jit Singh, principal chief commercial manager (PCCM), also addressed the heads of the departments, SrDCMs, five divisions of Central Railway, and other commercial officers.
The general manager congratulated the team for receiving the commercial shield 2021-22 and for registering the highest non-fare revenue, highest ticket-checking revenue and the highest parcel revenue across the Indian Railways.
In his keynote address, Lahoti said, “We should not rest on past laurels and gear up to better our own performance. We should also pay attention to drawing up action plans to meet targets and realize targeted revenue.”
He called to identify additional goods sheds and develop the same through the PPP model and implement a parcel management system at all major stations, and also to take adequate steps to lease maximum SLRs and VPs through e-auction.
Lahoti asked to focus on the implementation of an e-auction policy for commercial revenue and non-fare revenue contracts by all divisions to maximize revenue and reduce idling of assets, converting all cleaning contracts into activity-based within the next six months.
“Special emphasis should be laid on combining different cleanliness contracts for station cleaning, watering of trains, and cleaning train stations to save expenditure and popularize the use of mobile apps through various means,” he added.
