KALYAN: In a major heist, some thieves broke open two ATM machines using a gas cutter early Sunday morning and decamped with more than Rs 27 lakh cash in Kalyan.
The incident came to light in the morning after officials of the Bank of India informed the local Kolsewadi police station about the incident.
Acting on information, a police team rushed to the spot and checked the CCTV footage.
Sunil Gavali, police inspector of Kolsewadi police station said, "The primary investigation shows only two accused enter inside ATM centre to break both machines but we doubt that some more people could be involved who might be from outside keeping watch activity in the area and for same we are screening entire CCTV cameras in the region to reach the culprit”.
