Mysuru: More than 500 students from across Karnataka took part in the three-day free online sessions on cracking Common Entrance Test (CET) and COMEDK, and mock CET organised by the city-based National Institute of Engineering (NIE).
The resource persons gave students tips on answering the CET questions quickly and completing all the questions on time. They also discussed the question paper patterns from previous years, and insights into CET and COMEDK exams were given to the students.
Students from cities including Bengaluru, Mandya, Kodagu, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Mangaluru, Sullia, Ballari, Chitradurga, Kasargod, Udupi, Sirsi, Uttara Kannada, Shivamoga, etc attended the programme.
A cash prize of Rs 10,000 for first rank holder, Rs 5,000 for second rank holder, and Rs 3,000 for third rank holder of the mock CET was also announced. Alumnus of NIE, Anantha Damoor from California, USA, donated Rs 5,000 as prize money for the second topper of the mock CET.
Chethan Raghavendra MC, Police Public School, Mysuru, won first place. Second place was bagged by Yashas Vasishta M S, Gopalaswamy College, Mysuru, and Roshan N, MASVS Gurukula PU College, Mysuru, secured third place.
NIE principal Dr Rohini Nagapadma congratulated the winners of mock CET.
