BENGALURU: With the T20 cricket match between India and South Africa scheduled at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday, Namma Metro and BMTC have decided to extend their operational hours.
The last train from terminals (Byappanahalli, Kengeri, Nagasandra and Silk Institute) will leave at 1am (on Monday), while from Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station, Majestic, it will be at 1.30am in all four directions.
BMRCL will issue return journey paper tickets, which will be available for sale at all Metro stations 3pm onwards on Sunday for Rs 50.
The paper tickets are valid for a single journey, originating at Cubbon Park Metro station to any other station on Sunday 10pm onwards and on Monday till the extended hours, said a BMRCL release.
"Passengers' onward journey from any station to Cubbon Park Metro station can be through tokens and smart cards at normal fares. However, the return journey from Cubbon Park Metro station to any other station shall be via paper ticket only," the BMRCL release stated.
Meanwhile, BMTC has decided to operate additional buses between different parts of Bengaluru and the stadium from 3pm till the match ends, depending on traffic.
Officials said buses will be operated from the stadium to Kadugodi, Electronics City, Bannerghatta Road, Kengeri, Magadi Road, Nelamanagala, Yelahanka, RK Hegde Nagar, Hennur Road, and Hoskote.
