COIMBATORE: Alleging that there has been no significant progress in the Smart Cities Mission projects in Tamil Nadu,
BJP Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan on Friday requested the Union minister for housing and urban affairs Hardeep Singh Puri to inspect the ongoing works in the state.
After calling on the minister in New Delhi on Friday, Vanathi said Smart Cities projects for Tamil Nadu need an immediate inspection to spur the state government to complete the projects on time.
In her letter, she stated, "Since the present state government came to power a year ago, there has been no significant progress in the Smart Cities projects in Tamil Nadu. I have raised the matter in the state assembly several times. The projects need to be accelerated and completed within schedule."
She requested minister Hardeep Singh to visit Tamil Nadu, especially Coimbatore, to inspect projects and to issue necessary guidance for expediting the projects.
