The window to apply for the Uttar Pradesh Health Worker Training Course is now open. The Director General (Training) Medical Health and Family Welfare (DGMH) issued an official notification for the 1-year course for adult males, across 11 training centres with a total of 660 available seats.

The age range for application has been fixed at 17-35 years. The minimum educational requirement is that of having passed the class 12 exams with a score of at least 45%.

Candidates can apply via the official website – “dgmhup.gov.in”. Applicants can pay the fee of Rs. 200 (belonging to the General category), through the card or net banking options. The fee for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and OBC candidates is Rs. 100. The last date for submitting applications is July 10.

India’s acute shortage of healthcare workers is a cause of concern, with a 2018 study observing that there’s only 11 or 12 qualified healthcare workers per 10,000 persons – well below the WHO recommendation of 44.5.
