DAR head constable shoots self at DC office

Gadag: A head constable attached to District Armed Reserve (DAR) police was found dead with a gunshot wound under mysterious circumstances in the DC office at his treasury room on Wednesday night.
Police sources said the victim allegedly shot himself with his service rifle. The deceased is Kirankumar Koppad, 45, a resident of Gadag.
Gadag superintendent of police Shivaprakash Devaraju told TOI that the Kirankumar was deployed as treasury guard in the DC office. He allegedly shot himself after locking himself inside the room. He was found dead when the night shift constable reported to duty at the DC office.
He allegedly committed suicide due to family problems and a case has been registered at Gadag police station.
