Burglars target wedding venue, flee with jewellery

Gurgaon: A group of burglars allegedly stole valuables from a wedding venue on the intervening night of June 10 and 11 in Palam Vihar. According to the complainant, Bir Singh, a bag containing jewellery and cash was kept on the stage. “It was my son’s wedding at Harinarayan Palace in Palam Vihar. At around midnight, my friend who was carrying the bag, kept it on the stage and went to the photographer. He didn’t find the bag there when he returned,” Singh said. The family claimed that the bag contained gold, pearl and diamond jewellery, cash worth Rs 4 lakh, various identity cards, an ATM card and keys to a new SUV. An FIR has been registered under Section 380 (theft in the dwelling house) of IPC.
