Bihar: BJP neta shoots wife dead, kills self in Munger

PATNA: One Arun Yadav alias Bada Babu, Munger district general secretary of BJP and vice-president of the party's OBC wing, shot dead his wife and then committed suicide over a family dispute at his residence at Lal Darwaza around 5.30pm on Thursday. Police recovered two country-made pistols from the spot.
Munger SDPO Nandjee Prasad said Arun's wife was identified as Preeti Kumari (45). The couple did not have any child. Their bodies were recovered from a locked room on the second floor of the house and sent to sadar hospital for postmortem.
SHO of Kotwali police station Dhirendra Kumar Panday said hearing two back-to-back gunshots, the family members rushed to the room and knocked the door several times, but there was no response. "The family members immediately informed the police and the locked room was opened in presence of the cops. The couple had bullet marks on their head and two empty pistols were lying on the floor," he said.
"Prima facie, it appears that Arun had loaded single cartridge in each pistol. First he shoot his wife and then killed himself. Arun's father Kuleshwar Yadav has said in his statement that the childless couple was having fight for long. On Wednesday, Preeti returned to Munger after a medical check-up at a hospital in Patna. Her husband wanted her to campaign for the upcoming municipality election. As she was under a lot of stress due to medical reasons, she denied and they had a fight over the issue," the SHO said.
