CET off to smooth start in DK

Mangaluru: It was a smooth start for the Common Entrance Test (CET) in Dakshina Kannada on Thursday.
On day one, the biology and mathematics tests were held in 24 centres across the district. CET is a must for various vocational courses, including engineering. Five additional test centres have been added this year, due to an increase in number of candidates.
C D Jayanna said that this year, a total 12,168 candidates have registered for the CET, and all the candidates had adhered to the rules. There were 3,297 absentees from the biology test. The mathematics paper was attempted by 11,378 candidates, while 801 registered candidates were absent. Candidates said that both tests were very easy. On Friday, the physics and chemistry tests will be held. Kannada, for Both Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga students, is scheduled on Saturday.
