5 detained for hitting man, damaging cars in Pune

PUNE: The Sinhagad Road police on Wednesday detained five boys, aged around 15-16, and are searching for their three accomplices on the charge of assaulting a 29-year-old man and damaging four cars and a motorcycle at Dhayari around 10.45am on Tuesday.
Gajanan Rathod, who was attacked with sharp weapons, lodged a complaint with the police on Wednesday. Senior inspector Shailesh Shankhe of Sinhagad Road police told TOI, “The boys wanted to attack a minor boy from a rival group, but mistakenly assaulted Rathod. He sustained a cut on the head. After assaulting Rathod, they damaged windshields and windows of four cars and a motorcycle.” tnn
