Leaders denied entry to Congress HQ in Delhi: Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot

JAIPUR: Chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday targeted the Centre and BJP on the issue of ED questioning Rahul Gandhi for the third day and not allowing Congress leaders to go to the party office in Delhi.
Gehlot said that this is happening for the first time that the entry of our leaders into the Congress headquarters has been stopped. How are they getting so much courage that they are not allowing us and our leaders to enter the headquarters? This will cost them dearly. He was addressing the media on Wednesday.
Congress leaders who are protesting over the questioning of Rahul Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate have alleged that they were not allowed to go to the Congress headquarters at 24 Akbar Road and many MPs claim that they were not even permitted to leave their house.
Congress leader Sachin Pilot was detained on Wednesday while he was trying to enter the Congress office as the police have cordoned off the area and only limited people are being allowed inside.
Sachin Pilot who was sent to Narela police station said, “It is a bad sign for democracy as leaders and workers are not allowed to visit their party offices."
Gehlot said the Delhi Police entering the Congress headquarters and assaulting journalists and Congress workers show the desperation of the Central Government. The central government is getting worried that why the Congress party is not bowing down despite torturing our leader Rahul Gandhi so much.
He alleged that the Modi government is probably forgetting that the Congress never bowed down to the British and the elements threatening the unity of the country. Congress leaders and workers went ahead and sacrificed for the country and democracy but did not learn to bow down. Congress will stand firmly in front of this dictatorial government, he said.
“I strongly condemn the assault on journalists by the police at the Congress headquarters. The Congress stands firmly with the journalists who are working impartially. We will fight against this government oppression, we will win,” Gehlot tweeted.
