Thieves targeted an
ATM in south Delhi’s
Satya Niketan, used a gas cutter and took away the cash box in the early hours of Wednesday. The cash unit contained around Rs 20 lakh.
According to police, around 3.30am, a call was received at South Campus police station that some people were trying to cut the ATM near Satya Niketan and that the ATM caught fire.
But once the team reached the location, they learned about the robbery.Police said that four men came in a car and fled after the robbery. They also cut the wire of the CCTV cameras before using the gas cutter.
“A case has been registered and we are working on some clues,” said a police officer.
