Bihar: Record loading of litchi from Muzaffarpur station, says railways

According to Sonepur divisional railway manager (DRM), railways transported 5,625 quintal of litchi through parcel vans and 840 quintal through brake vans,
PATNA: Railways has made a record loading of litchi from Muzaffarpur station under Sonepur division of East Central Railway (ECR).
So far 9453 quintals of litchi have been transported to far-off places in the country from Muzaffarpur station between May 20 and June 13, yielding a revenue of Rs 61.70 lakh to railways, said Sonepur divisional railway manager (DRM) Neelmani.
According to Neelmani, railways transported 5,625 quintal of litchi through parcel vans and 840 quintal through brake vans, besides 2988 quintal via loose parcel vans to places like Rajkot, Jaipur, Surat, Amritsar, Delhi and Bhusawal.
The DRM said railways has made adequate arrangements for the farmers and businessman to transport world famous litchi from Muzaffarpur to far off places across the country, by attaching parcel vans in several trains passing through Muzaffarpur station.
