GREATER NOIDA: A 29-year-old woman was found dead at her rented accommodation in Surajpur area of Greater Noida on Wednesday morning. Police suspect that the woman's husband, who is absconding at the moment, is behind the murder. The deceased, Kusma Devi, was from Aligarh.
“We received a call on our helpline number around 10.30am, and the caller said he was getting some foul smell from his neighbouring room which was locked. A team from Surajpur police station was rushed to the spot,” said additional deputy commissioner of police (Central Noida) Elamaran G.
He said that the team broke open the door and found the woman’s body on the bed. The body had started to decompose while there were some blue marks on her face, the officer said. “We informed her family. Her husband, Lal Singh (31), is absconding. The two got married in 2011,” Elamaran said.
Cops have not received any official complaint in this regard but have initiated legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, the Noida police also found the body of a 28-year-old tempo driver in a Greater Noida park. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide.
During investigation, it was found that the man was reeling under financial debt. He had purchased the tempo on loan but was unable to payback the money and the lender had impounded the tempo. "Recently, he had called up his family and informed them that he was under stress and considering suicide. The body has been sent for postmortem,” a senior officer said.
