Two killed after truck hits bike

Mangaluru/ Udupi: Two persons died, after the bike they were riding, was hit by a truck at Sornadu in Arala village in Bantwal on Tuesday. The deceased are Nithesh,28, and Shashidhar,27. According to eyewitnesses, truck driver Shreyas was driving in a rash and negligent manner, and had come to the extreme right, near a curve, and hit the bike.
A case has been registered under IPC sections 279 (rash driving on a public way) and 304 (A) (causing death by negligence).
Man held for attempting to steal cattle
Subrahmanya police station personnel have arrested a man on the charges of attempting to steal cattle from the parking lot of the Kukke Subrahmanya temple. The arrested accused is Umar Farooq. He had attempted to steal cattle on March 23. He has been produced before a court, and remanded in judicial custody, the police stated on Wednesday.

The Manipal police have arrested two students on the charges of ganja consumption. Based on reliable information, the police raided the flat that the students were staying in on Monday. The students were subjected to a medical examination, and based on the reports that arrived on Wednesday, Nial Yuvan Charles Goveas,20, and Karana R K,21, were arrested under the NDPS Act.
