ASI of Salem Tabri dies after being hit by train

LUDHIANA: Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Jinder Singh posted at Salem Tabri police station died on Wednesday after being hit by a train near the railway tracks at Lakkar Bridge.
The incident took place around 1.30pm. Passersby informed the police control room and Government Railway Police (GRP) reached the spot and sent the body to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
Senior officials of the police commissionerate reached the spot and family members of the ASI were informed. GRP Ludhiana’s SHO Jaskaran Singh said a probe into the incident is going on.
