SNG & Partners, a full-service law firm has entered into a binding joint venture agreement with another full-service firm R&P Partners, which has a large presence in Southern India.

The consolidated strength of the firms will be over 120 lawyers including partners and will have a presence across New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Cochin, Madurai, and Singapore.

“We have been working with the firm for a long and formalizing the collaboration was a natural progression to reinforce our trust in each other,” said Rajesh Narain Gupta, Managing Partner, SNG & Partners. “The firms have plans for joint expansion – both in terms of practice areas as well as geography, both domestic and international,” adds Gupta.

R Visveswaran, managing partner of R&P Partners said, the announcement of an exclusive alliance was only a matter of time. “We look forward to further fortifying our synergies,” said Visveswaran. “For us, this alliance paves the way to bolster presence in the national capital (New Delhi) and the business capital (Mumbai), where SNG & Partners is already a key market player.”

As the Indian legal market is maturing, increasingly many law firms are entering into similar alliances with other law firms that may have geographical synergies or practice areas related.

Last year in November, New Delhi-based intellectual property firm Anand & Anand partnered with Mumbai-headquartered law firm Naik, Naik & Co.
