The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists on Thursday submitted a memorandum at Nand Nagari SDM office in Delhi, and many other administrative offices across the country, against violence that broke out last Friday in several parts of the country, according to India Today report.

The VHP leaders have sought a ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI) and Tablighi Jamaat, alleging they had a key role to play in the violence that erupted last Friday, nearly a week after former BJP leader Nupur Sharma's alleged remarks on Prophet Muhammad.

"The Mullahs and Maulvis shall be restrained from any public speech on the coming Friday. National Security Act shall be slapped on those who are found to have indulged in violence and such mosques and madarasas shall be kept under 24x7 surveillance. The people responsible for inciting the mob shall be thrown out of the city and NIA shall investigate the cases of stone pelting on Fridays," the memorandum submitted by VHP activists read.

VHP's national spokesperson, Vinod Bansal, said, "We have conducted this activity across the nation. Our leaders have submitted memorandum to the local administration from Sundarbani in Jammu to Modi Nagar in Meerut and other parts of the country. The common Muslims shall not come under influence of those who want to disrupt peace of the country by pelting stones on Fridays."

"We want the police and administration to make sure that they have adequate arrangements to tackle any situation on coming Friday," he added.

On Tuesday, VHP had organised the Hanuman Chalisa paaths at 200 temples simultaneously in the national capital against Friday's violence.

Protests erupted in several states on Friday over remarks made by now suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammad. Demonstrations were carried out in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and West Bengal after Friday prayers.
