Ramachandra Raje Urs on Wednesday said Scouts and
Guides have been instrumental in encouraging schoolchildren in extracurricular activities. It has also helped in instilling discipline and social consciousness in them, he added.
Speaking at an awareness programme organised for education officers at Bharat Scouts and Guides Centre here, the
DDPI said during the pandemic, the Scouts and Guides Association has helped the education department by providing masks and sanitizers. He appreciated the association for providing necessary assistance to students during exams.
Stating that the department would extend all possible support to the organisation, the DDPI said the department would educate its officials about the activities of
Scouts and Guides organisation and encourage students to join the same. Karnataka Scouts and Guides chief commissioner P G R Sindhia presided over the event.
