India’s U-17 women’s WC ties at Kalinga Stadium

Bhubaneswar: Kalinga Stadium will host India’s group league matches in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. India will play their matches on October 11, 14 and 17, FIFA and the local organizing committee (LOC) announced on Wednesday.
Besides Kalinga Stadium, matches will be held at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa and DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The official draw for the 16-team event will be held on June 24.
Kalinga Stadium will host a total of six matches while the quarter-finals will be played in Navi Mumbai and Goa on October 21 and 22 followed by the semi-finals in Goa on October 26. The final is scheduled at Navi Mumbai on October 30.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik expressed happiness about Kalinga Stadium being shortlisted for the tournament.
“Extremely happy and excited to learn that Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar will be hosting group matches of India in the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. The leading sports destination is ready to provide the grandeur the home team needs for this tournament,” said Naveen.
