64 women, kids reunited with family in May: North Western Railway

JAIPUR: In May, 64 women and children were reunited with their families, relatives or connected with NGOs, said officials from the North Western Railway (NWR) on Wednesday.
Captain Shashi Kiran, chief public relations officer for NWR, said, “A safety campaign was run by the Railway Protection Force in the region, through which 64 women and children have been safely reunited with their families or relatives. Along with this, Yatri Mitra booth is also being operated by RPF which provides desired information to the passengers. In April, 22 passengers were helped through the Yatri booth, six were provided with wheelchairs and 12 sick passengers were given medical aid.”
In May, 16 outsiders and three railway personnel were held under various sections of Railway Act and property worth Rs 1,67,554 was recovered from them, said officials.
A total of 994 people were fined under various sections of the railway act, with a cumulative fine amount of Rs 3,01,685 being collected in May. For wrong chain pulling, 357 cases were registered in May this year and total fine of Rs 62,085 was collected by the Railway protection force.
