RAJKOT: A 23-year-old woman and her son narrowly escaped the wrath of nearly 15 men armed with sticks and pipes who intercepted her scooter in Jetpur town of Rajkot on Tuesday.
As the men went to beat the woman, she screamed for help. Two persons tried to intervene but were beaten up by the men. In the melee, the woman Kajal Chavda escaped from the spot.
Police have booked Samir, Sabir and other unidentified persons after the Chavda lodged a complaint.
According to police, Sabir harboured a grudge against Chavda’s elder sister Rekha with whom he had a verbal altercation a few days ago. When Sabir was going in his SUV, cow dung scattered on the road and splashed on Rekha who was going on a scooter. This led to a heated argument between the two.
Sabir and his friends had actually come in search of Rekha, but they waylaid her sister seeing her on the road.
