Prophet Muhammad remarks: Coimbatore man held for FB post on Nupur Sharma

COIMBATORE: Police on Tuesday arrested a man from Coimbatore for fomenting enmity between two communities in a Facebook post supporting Nupur Sharma, who was sacked as BJP spokesperson for her comments on Prophet Muhammad.
Karthi, 24, was booked under Section 153 A of the Indian Penal Code and Section 67 of Information Technology Act by the Coimbatore rural cyber police. He was later remanded in judicial custody. Police said the post was removed from his Facebook page. Several right-wing outfits criticised the police for arresting Karthi. TNN
