Jaipur: Goons barged into a hostel and thrashed several inmates including five deaf and speech-impaired inmates with sticks and rods near Gurjar ki Thadi in
Mansarovar on Sunday late night.
The hostel’s manager, Ganesh Singh filed an FIR against the unidentified accused at the Mansarovar police station on Monday.
“The miscreants severely thrashed two students. They sustained severe injuries and were taken to the hospital’s
ICU ward for treatment. They can’t speak or hear because they are specially-abled,” Singh said.
According to Singh, the incident occurred outside a restaurant near his hostel where a few miscreants in a car were driving recklessly, causing a commotion on the road.
“Other youths in one SUV chided them for rash driving and a verbal spat soon ensued between them. The quarrel snowballed into a scuffle wherein two youths from the SUV darted into my hostel to save themselves,” he said.
Singh alleged that some drunk youths from the car chased the two youths into the hostel and created a ruckus. “They vandalised the hostel and barged into a room where five deaf and speech-impaired students were fast asleep. The accused began assaulting them and fled later on,” he claimed.
The incident triggered panic amongst locals and began to gather outside the hostel. Seeing a group of people swallowing outside, the accused fled in their car.
The FIR was registered under
IPC Sections 323 (causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 452 (trespass ), and 427 (Mischief causing damage).
