Mangaluru: 15-year-old girl falls from 5th floor of apartment, dies

MANGALURU: A 15-year-old girl died after she fell from the fifth floor of an apartment in Kankanady
area of Mangaluru in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Sehar Imtiyaz, a class 10 student and daughter of Mahammad Imtiyaz.
The incident reportedly took place at 4.30pm when the girl was in her flat, setting the curtains in the hall that has an attached balcony.
She climbed up the chair and as she was busy setting the curtains right, she reportedly slipped and fell down from a height of 50-60 feet.
She was unconscious and had sustained injuries on head, hands and legs.
She was rushed to a private hospital, where she was declared dead at 5.40pm.
A case has been registered at the Mangaluru East police station.
