Woman succumbs to burns at hospital

Mangaluru: A woman, who sustained scalding after she slipped in the kitchen of a school in Puttur, died on Sunday.
According to police, the deceased is Agnes Prameela D’Souza,37.
The incident took place on May 30, when the victim, a cook, as part of the Midday Meal programme, had cooked sambar, and placed the vessel near the door.
At 12 pm, she reportedly slipped, and the sambar fell on her, due to which she was scalded. She was rushed to a private hospital in Puttur, and was referred to the Wenlock District Hospital.
She failed to respond to treatment, and died on Sunday. A case has been registered at the Puttur town police station.
