Youth Congress men in judicial custody till June 27

Thiruvananthapuram: The court remanded two Youth Congress activists, protesting against CM Pinarayi Vijayan in the flight from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, in judicial custody after Valiyathura police registered a case against them and produced them in court on Tuesday.
The police registered a case against Farseen Majeed, Naveen Kumar and Sunith Narayanan. The charges pertain to conspiracy, attempt to murder, voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duty and various sections of the aircraft rules.
According to the FIR, all the three conspired and ran towards the CM shouting and threatening to kill him inside the flight by ignoring the instructions of the aircraft crew and also by compromising the safety of the aircraft. The case was registered based on a complaint by Anil Kumar S, the chief minister’s personal security officer.
While Majeed and Kumar shouted slogans and tried to approach the CM, Narayanan had shot the developments on the mobile phone camera and shared the visuals outside, it is learnt. he court remanded the two YC activists in judicial custody till June 27, and their bail applications will be considered by the court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, YC , which petitioned the state police chief, demanded that a case be registered against Jayarajan for attempting to murder both the protesters. YC has also approached the civil aviation authority demanding that Jayarajan be included in the list of those banned from flying.
Special team set up
A special investigation team led by SP (crime branch, Kannur) Prejish Thottathil will probe the case in connection with protest in the flight. As per the order issued in this regard, the special team has been constituted considering the “gravity of the case”.
The team also consists of DSP (Koothuparamba) Pradeep Kannipoyyil, assistant commissioner (Sanghumugham) D K Prithewiraj, SHO (Valiyathura) T Sathikumar, SHO (Koothuparamba) P A Binu Mohan and SHO (Mattannur) M Krishnan. The team will work under the supervision of ADGP (crimes) Sheikh Darvesh Sahib.
Meanwhile the director general of civil aviation Arun Kumar said that as per the regulations on unruly passengers,the internal committee of the airline headed by a retired sessions judge shall adjudicate and take appropriate action in the matter.
