Agnipath a revolutionary initiative: Amit Shah

Amit Shah
NEW DELHI: Home minister Amit Shah and other senior BJP leaders on Tuesday lauded the ‘Agnipath’ scheme as a “revolutionary” initiative. Shah asserted that the scheme will provide youngsters with opportunities to make a “golden tomorrow” for themselves and the country.
“In this, youth of 17 and a half years to 21 years will serve the country by joining the armed forces for four years. On completion of the service period, they will get Rs 11.71 lakh tax free service fund package, so that they also be financially empowered,” Shah said.
Party president J P Nadda said it shows the government’s emphasis on job creation and the focus on efficient management of workload. “The government under the leadership of PM Modi has announced the scheme allowing our youth to serve in the military forces for a certain duration. This will help our youth to instil discipline in themselves and to help the nation effectively.”
