Bombed-out buildings: Photoshoot of Ukraine students go viral

The students used damaged buildings and destroyed vehicles as surreal backdrops as they posed stoically for the camera in their graduation shots.

The group of roughly 40 students are from schools in Chernihiv in northern Ukraine. Photographer Stanislav Senyk told Reuters he wanted to document it after witnessing the horrors of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The pictures went viral after they were posted to Twitter. Many saw pain. Others saw defiance. And they all saw what the human tragedy in Ukraine means to the young people there.

These pictures will be compiled into a graduation album, reports said. So that years later the world would still remember what the young people of Ukraine lost in 2022.
