New Delhi Municipal Council announces scheme for affordable healthcare in city

Aimed at providing affordable healthcare to people from economically weaker sections in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) area, Satish Upadhyay, vice-chairman, NDMC, on Tuesday announced the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojna soon in the area. The council meeting in May this year gave its in-principle approval for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhanmantri Jan Arogya Yojna (ABPMJY) for smart city residents, said Upadhyay.

Today is the 3rd day of demonstration, police made proper arrangements; we've detained around 150 people. Congress had not taken any permission for gathering today; their office bearers know about the area in which Sec 144 is imposed. We had communicated to Congress in writing last night that no gathering should be conducted around ED office & on Akbar Road with Sec 144 imposed. When some workers didn't agree to our appeal today also, we detained them. In 2.5 days, around 800 people detained.

Delhi govt tells staff at its medical facilities to wear uniform on duty

Delhi government has issued directions for all the medical staff of its hospitals to wear their designated uniforms during the working hours. An order was issued after many of the medical staff were found not wearing the dress despite getting an allowance for it.

The order, which was issued by Amit Singla, secretary, health and family welfare, on Monday said action would be initiated against those not following the directions.

Sisodia to begin inspection of markets picked by Delhi govt for redevelopment

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday will begin the inspection of five markets picked by the city government for redevelopment under its "Rozgar Budget", which aims to generate 20 lakh job opportunities in five years. Officials privy to the development said Sisodia's inspection would start from the Kamla Nagar market. During the visit, he will interact with traders in the area to know about their issues and suggestions regarding redevelopment of the market.

Covid norm violations: Delhi Police to up pressure

No challans were issued for violation of social distancing norms by Delhi Police between June 1 and June 10. Not just this, zero challans were issued for large public gatherings and congregations and spitting in public places during the same period. However, with cases of Covid again on the rise, police said they would step up the drive against violators.Cases registered for violation of Covid norms also saw a sharp decline, from 8,857 in January to just 37 in June. Similarly, 4,926 challans were issued for mask violations in the first ten days of June compared with 23,928 in May.
