Amazon has refreshed its Fire TV stick portfolio in India with the new Fire TV Stick Lite 2022. The latest edition comes with the same design as the Fire TV Stick Lite 2020, though it gets a new remote, which includes multiple hotkeys. However, the remote is a 'lite' version of the regular Alexa remote that lets users control TV. It means the new Alexa Voice Remote Lite lacks power and volume buttons.
For those unaware, Amazon Fire TV Sticks come with a plug-and-play design and helps users with an old flat-screen TV to run a variety of OTT apps. It can also be connected to newer TVs or projectors via an HDMI port. The Fire TV Stick is available in various iterations, though the design remains more or less the same.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite is available on Amazon for Rs 2,999. Interestingly, the pricing is identical to the price that the original Fire TV Stick Lite carried in 2020. The old-gen model is currently retailing at Rs 2,499.
The 2022 edition of the Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite is available in a single black colour edition. Apart from the new Fire TV Stick Lite 2022, the older Fire TV Stick 3rd-gen costs Rs 3,999, and Fire TV Stick 4K costs Rs 4,499. Amazon also offers the Fire TV Cube for Rs 12,999.
Overall, the 2022 and 2020 editions of Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite are more or less the same in terms of specifications. The new model, as mentioned, comes bundled with the new Lite remote that features hotkeys for Prime Video, Netflix, apps, and Amazon Music. Apart from these apps, users can download popular OTT apps like Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5, SonyLIV, Sun NXT, ALT Balaji, Discovery+ and more.
Users can also enjoy Full-HD (1080p) video streaming at up to 60fps. Android smartphone and Apple iPhone users can download the Alexa app from the respective app stores to set up the device. Users can also connect Bluetooth-enabled headphones and soundbars to the Fire TV Stick Lite 2022.
In terms of connectivity, there's support for dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5. Lastly, the new Fire TV Stick Lite offers 8GB of storage, the same as the old-gen 'lite' Fire TV Stick.
