Teen neighbour rapes 5-year-old girl in Jaipur

JAIPUR: A 5-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 14-year-old neighbour at a colony in Pratap Nagar. The girl initially kept silent but later narrated her plight to her family, who lodged a case at the Pratap Nagar police station on Monday.
According to the police, the girl's mother in the FIR stated that the girl was alone at her house on Friday when the accused (police wished not to name him since he is a juvenile) grabbed her.
“The accused raped the girl at his house. The girl was scared and did not utter a word about it to her parents. However, on Sunday evening, she narrated her plight and informed about the incident. We have registered the case under appropriate sections of the POCSO Act,” said a senior police officer of Pratap Nagar police station.
The girl’s family and the family of the accused are acquainted with each other. “The medical examination of the girl was done and her statements were recorded in presence of her mother,” the officer added.
The investigation of the case has been handed over to Rampratap Bishoni, assistant commissioner of police, Sanganer.
According to the police, the mother told them that the girl was feeling low for the past few days and when the mother enquired about the reason, she narrated her plight. “We will try to file an early charge sheet in this case and the prosecution of the minor accused would be done by the Juvenile justice board,” the officer added.
