Detailed action plan for rural tourism promotion in UP

The Tourism and Culture Minister of UP, Mr. Jaiveer Singh directed the officers of the tourism department to come up with a comprehensive action plan for promotion of rural tourism in the state.


Mr. Singh said that a tourist timetableregarding fairs and festivals that are held in each district needs to be prepared in line with the season. Training needs to be imparted to the residents of villages that are located close to the tourist attractions, marking their residences for homestay facilities for tourists. Singh said this while going through the advancement of the tourism department action plan, tourism strategy and creation of district tourism & culture committee, branding and advertising of tourist attractions. He said this in a meeting organized in the tourism directorate.


As part of the Arthganga plan, the expansion of tourist spotslocated on the banks of the Ganga needs to be arrangedbyforming‘shilpa gram’, ‘sandhyaaarti’and ‘haat at ghats’.


Mr. Singhasked the officers to organize workshops for making all stakeholders mindfulabout the inducements to be given as per the tourism policy organized by the tourism department.


The minister said thatexistence of the department needs to be ensured at travel marts that are organized at the domestic and international level. The department officers need to be sent on tours to various states to gather info about the top tourism practices that are dominant in other states.
