Rajasthan: Power department Junior engineers stir over salary anomalies

JAIPUR: Junior engineers of the energy department under the banner of Power Engineers’ Association of Rajasthan staged a dharna outside Vidyut Bhawan on Monday demanding resolution of the anomaly in their pay scale and lack of avenues for promotion.
Though a delegation of agitating engineers met Arti Dogra in the CMO, and the CMO officials were in agreement with their demands, the stalemate is continuing as the agitating engineers said they would withdraw their agitation only after the government issued orders meeting their demands. They have now shifted their indefinite dharna to Jagatpura.
The association said the recommendations of the coordination committee constituted in 2015 to look into the grievances of pay anomalies and assured career progression(ACP) were not yet implemented.
They pointed out that the pay scale of junior engineers in the energy department is (Level 10-3600), which is less than the scale of the same cadres posted in other departments. In other departments, the junior engineers' pay scale is (Level 11/4200).
