Two days before exam, NU takes off Forensic Sc timetable

Nagpur: After leaving them with just 15 days of time to prepare for exam, the Nagpur University (NU) continued to throw bigger challenges at Master of Forensic Science final year students.
The NU has taken off Forensic Science’s summer exam timetable from its website ahead of the schedule start from June 16.
The students complained that the university has not yet declared a revised timetable or informed them about changes, if any, in the upcoming summer exam at the eleventh hour.
On May 31, TOI had reported about the summer examination gaffe by the NU. The day since the timetable was declared for final year MSc forensic science papers had left the students with an almost impossible task to appear for the exam. Just 15 days were made available for the students to complete syllabus, practicals and dissertation.
The students had recently written to their institute director seeking more time to complete syllabus before exams. The institute had forwarded the concerns to the exam section. “We had demanded extension of exam dates till July 15 so that we get some time to complete our course and study for the exam. Now, the timetable has disappeared from the portal and we have no knowledge about our exams,” they said.
As per the timetable, the fourth semester exams are from June 16 to 23 while the new academic session begins from June 22.
When TOI checked, it found that the NU has revised exam dates for many examinations but MSc forensic science was not in the list on Monday.
Vice-chancellor SR Chaudhari, ProVC Sanjay Dudhe and director, board of examinations and evaluation, Prafulla Sabale, didn’t answer to TOI’s calls and messages in this regard.
Sources said the question paper for the exam too are not set as it is a new syllabus. “In case they are referring to the previous exam, then students may get old syllabus in exam. Earlier, the NU had planned exams in descriptive pattern offline but had revised it couple of times before settling for MCQ pattern. The question paper for descriptive type too was not set,” they said.
