Metro puts its differential pricing plan for 2 tech corridors on hold
Namma Metro has decided not to impose differential pricing for upcoming tech corridors Byappanahalli Whitefield and RV Road-Bommasandra. While approving Phase 2, the government had instructed BMRCL to adopt a policy for differential pricing. The government order had recommended a higher fare (wherever feasible) for trips originating and terminating at select stations and during peak hours. This was aimed at generating more revenue, and stations along the above-mentioned tech corridors were considered for the plan.

Auto driver dies in Mysuru road crash
A 43-year-old autorickshaw driver succumbed to injuries he’d sustained in a serial accident near Satellite bus stand on Mysuru Road early Monday. The accident took place at 6.30am and involved a canter truck, goods truck, the autorickshaw and a BMTC Vayu Vajra bus heading to Kempegowda International Airport. As three heavy vehicles were involved in the accident and half the carriageway was covered, citybound traffic was affected for nearly two hours on the highway.
Actor Siddhanth Kapoor held in Bengaluru for taking drugs
Bollywood actor Shraddha Kapoor’s brother, Siddhanth Kapoor, 37, and four others were arrested for consumption of drugs during a raid by Bengaluru city police at The Park hotel, MG Road in the Central Business District (CBD) late Sunday night. Police said Siddhanth, also an assistant director in Bollywood, was the DJ at a party. The other arrested were Akhil Soni, 28, business manager with a private firm; Harjoth Singh, 28, opertional head of a logistics firm; Akhil, 23, freelance photographer, and Hani Rafeeque, 25, who is in digital marketing. All five accused were released on station bail Monday midnight.
Architect gets clean chit for worker’s death
The Karnataka high court has ruled that it would be farfetched to fasten the charge of ‘causing death by negligence’ on an architect or engineer for the death of a worker during the construction of a house he or she has designed. Allowing his petition, the high court quashed proceedings against a Bengaluru-based architect V Vishwas.
