Tricity to have 3 more senior secy schools
The UT education department is planning to upgrade three schools in the Tricity to senior secondary level. The move is aimed at providing education to students closer to home. Government Middle School, Kishangarh will be given the status of high school while Government Model High School, Sector 12 and Government Model High School, Maulijagran will be given the status of senior secondary schools.

Plans are being made to upgrade the schools after the summer vacation and final approval will be given this month.
After upgrade of Government Model High School, Sector 12 and the school being built in Maulijagran, the number of senior secondary schools in the city will rise to 45. In the 2021-2022 session, the department had 42 schools, in which 18,300 students were enrolled.
Admission in class 11 is centralised and students from other states also apply. Students from other states get admission on 15% of the total seats, while students who have passed Class 10th from the city get 85% of the seats.

The middle school of Kishangarh had been running in a dharamshala as the school building was small. The new building was constructed in 2013. The administration will hand over the building to the education department by June 20, after which Class IX students will also be able to study here.
